Friday, September 12, was Homecoming for Northgate High School. We played Bannekar--and lost horribly :c(. Due to half-time being taken up by Homecoming Court and Queen announcements, the band performed their show before the game began. Harry has been dubbed the "unofficial" Band videographer; and got a press pass to film from the roof of the press box. That way, the formations the band makes during their show are more clearly able to be seen.
Mr. Armstrong, the band director, intends to add new elements each home game until their final show is complete. The competition show is called "Prime." The opening piece is called "Three"--which they have performed already. This week, they added a second song--"Five." The final song, which will be added over the next couple of weeks, is called "Seven." As you can see, "Prime" isn't just a clever name, all of the song titles are prime numbers--tada!
Anyway, you'll probably recognize different elements of the songs. In "Three," you'll here the familiar hymn phrase, "Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost" (Trinity=Three).
In "Five," you'll recognize elements of an old jazz favorite called "Take Five." Also, at the end of "Five," the band actually forms a number five on the field--watch for it (Harrison is on the very tip of the five closest to the goal post).
I haven't heard or seen "Seven," yet. I'm looking forward to it. I hope you enjoy watching this week's performance.
