Harrison's 8th grade band concert

Harrison started band in the 6th grade--he plays the trumpet. Sometimes going to these concerts--two a year for the last three years--as a parent has been a lesson in patience, love, and turning a deaf ear. But this year, they were really good. They played several of their Festival songs. The strings band played Led Zepplin and "Smoke on the Water." It was really enjoyable. Of course, this is a good thing since Harrison will be marching with Northgate High School's Viking Band this fall. He starts band practice the end of May. He'll be performing at the Newnan Fourth of July Parade; and then he'll have Band Camp the end of July. All of this, plus band fees, uniform fees, etc... is supposed to cost us $650. However, because Harrison has been willing to work--very hard I might add--at the Renaissance Festival hauling garbage almost every weekend for six weeks, we'll only have to pay $215. We're really proud that he's worked so hard and earned the money to participate in something that he really wants to do. So, if you go to the RenFest between now and the end of May, you may see Harrison hauling trash in a neon yellow Valhalla Classic t-shirt. If you see him, give him an extra pat on the back for a job well done :c).

PS--If you hadn't already figured it out, the band is playing "Mission: Impossible."
